Pubbelly Sushi LGBTQ Pride Month Special Cocktail to Support SAVE

To commemorate LGBTQ Pride Month in June, Pubbelly Sushi, under the direction of five-time James Beard Award Semi-Finalist Best Chef Southeast, José Mendín, is pleased to announce a special cocktail promotion to benefit SAVE, a local organization whose mission is to protect and defend equality for people in South Florida who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer.

Pubbelly Sushi Pride Month

A portion of proceeds from Pubbelly’s Passion Fruit Sangria ($16) will be donated to the organization, which has advocated for equal rights for persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities since 1993. The cocktail is a refreshing blend of Sauvignon Blanc, passion fruit foam, fresh lime juice, club soda, and seasonal fruits mixed with Boba (Japanese candy). Each cocktail also comes with a special Pubbelly Sushi Pride sticker. The promotion, which runs from June 1st through 30th, will be available at all four Pubbelly Sushi locations across South Florida including Aventura Mall, Brickell City Centre, Downtown Dadeland and Miami Beach.

SAVE is recognized as South Florida’s longest serving organization dedicated to protecting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) against discrimination. The foundation has accomplished this through grassroots action focused on political advocacy (working to promote local, state, and federal policy change by building community consensus), community outreach (changing hearts and minds by educating the people of South Florida about LGBTQ issues), and candidate endorsements (supporting political leaders committed to ending LGBTQ discrimination).

Last year, Pubbelly Sushi also donated a portion of sales of the passion fruit-infused cocktail to SAVE, cementing the South Florida brand’s commitment to supporting the LGBTQ community. Pubbelly Sushi recognizes the importance of impacting from the ground up as a part of their ethos and has continuously been involved in local community-giving initiatives throughout the year including Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) benefiting the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami (February), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (April), Lotus House (April), Mount Sinai Medical Center (May), and more. Since September 2021, each Pubbelly Sushi location has been able to allocate monthly donations (of up to $1K) to different local and national charities.
